Trent Frederic to make Oilers debut vs. Kings on Saturday

Trent Frederic will finally take the ice in an Edmonton Oilers jersey.

Frederic has been battling a lower-body injury since before he was traded from the Boston Bruins before the trade deadline, but head coach Kris Knoblauch said he is ready to suit up against the Los Angeles Kings.

The 27-year-old centre has 15 points in 57 games this season and has given 155 hits.

Frederic’s return marks the first of many injured Oilers who are expected to rejoin games before the start of playoffs.

He was a trade aquisition in a three team deal with the Bruins and the New Jersey Devils.

Connor McDavid, league leading scorer Leon Draisaitl, and Evander Kane are the next three injured Oilers forwards looking to recover and rejoin the lineup.
