Kimera: as it sounds, is not a camera. It’s somewhere in between a flip phone and a laptop; a compact throwback to old-school handheld gaming consoles. However, it may appear, it’s not an ordinary device. In the age of social media and artificial intelligence, it is a device that harnesses the power of the latter to free you from the time-draining grip of the former.
Kimera is an AI handheld console designed to allow you to break free from doomscrolling and get you into the habit of developing your own little world of interests. If you are willing to put aside the phone and embrace the Kimera, time spent on passive consumption can be turned into creative expression.

So, the AI-driven handheld console, Kimera, offers an alternative to wasting time on social media or doomscrolling on negative content. It is designed to let you cultivate a habit of designing/creating your world of interests with curiosity and creativity harnessed by AI. An estimated 210 million people suffer from social media addiction today, and this device helps you maintain a disconnect from it and create a story-driven game, a short film, animations, or even an interactive world of your own.
Kimera may seem otherwise, but it’s not about disconnecting you from the digital world entirely; in fact, it envisions distancing you from the distracting digital world to reconnect with yourself: with your interests, your creativity, and your own thoughts. For this, the handheld device is made portable and ergonomic, so that it can be used throughout the day without fatigue.
The flip form factor of the Kimera comprises an OLED Display on the top half – akin to a laptop – and has microphones just along the fold on the bottom half. Just below that is an interactive screen, which as seen in the renders can be used for various functions, including as a touchscreen keyboard. Toward the bottom half of the lower section, the D-pad and a touch pad remind of the handheld game consoles of the era gone by. The slim device makes space for the power button on the side and has a pair of finger indentations and buttons on the back. Kimera weighs 450g and has compact, 150mm x 180mm x 10mm dimensions. It comes with a long (up to 10 hours) of battery life, so you can create without a break in the breath.
While AI is employed to guide you through the creation and thinking, the onboard tactile buttons, responsive touchscreen, and interactive dial make control seamless. As the designers claim, the Kimera is made to give your ideas a playground and transport you from endless scrolling to endless creation. Though it’s in the renders for now, but the creators behind the project entail that when it goes live, Kimera could be priced at $349 to start with. We are short on information about what to expect under the hood, but there is no dearth of photos for your imagination. Scroll through for the interesting render images of the product. Gosh, scrolling again!
