The Wombats have shared details of a new UK and Ireland arena tour, set to take place later this year, with support coming from The Snuts. Find the details below.

Six new shows have been added to the indie band’s packed itinerary for 2025, and will all take place across December. They come in celebration of their latest album‘Oh! The Ocean’, which arrived last month and marked their first since 2022’s chart-topping ‘Fix Yourself, Not The World’.

The new dates kick off with an opening night at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle Upon Tyne on December 5, and continue the following night with a show at the BP Pulse LIVE Arena in Birmingham.

From there, shows are lined up in Bournemouth, Dublin and Belfast on December 7, 9 and 10 respectively, before frontman Matthew Murphy and co. wrap up the dates with a final night at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool on December 11.

Support for all six dates will come from The Snuts, and tickets go on sale from Friday (March 28) at 9am. Pre-sale options commence from tomorrow (March 26), and you can visit here for tickets.

The Wombats’ newly announced tour dates are:

DECEMBER
5 – Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, Utilita Arena
6 – Birmingham, England, bp pulse LIVE Arena
7 – Bournemouth, England, Bournemouth International Centre
9 – Dublin, Republic of Ireland, Olympia Theatre
10 – Belfast, Northern Ireland, The Telegraph Building
11 – Blackpool, England, Empress Ballroom

New UK and Ireland dates for the band come on the heels of a huge summer of touring. Their spring headline dates kicked off last week in Nottingham, and have so far included further stops in London, Cardiff, Manchester and Hull.

It is set to continue this week, with shows planned for Glasgow and Leeds, before heading overseas for 14 European tour dates. This features stops in France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg and Belgium.

Other shows planned include a stop at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend 2025, alongside Biffy Clyro and Tom Grennan, a performance at Mad Cool in Madrid, two huge co-headline shows with Razorlight and their biggest ever hometown show at Liverpool’s On The Waterfront. Visit here for all upcoming tour dates and tickets.

Released last month, ‘Oh! The Ocean’ was made with help from St Vincent and Death Cab For Cutie producer John Congleton, and inspired by a revelatory experience that the frontman had on a beach during a recent family holiday.

Speaking about advancing to arena tours during an interview with NME last October, the frontman said: “The bigger the crowd, the more comfortable I feel. The small ones freak me out, because I can see everyone’s face.”

“I can see the boyfriend that’s been dragged along against his will. I can see the first album fans, or I can see the people who know us from TikTok and were expecting a Euro dance track. I can see all of these things, whereas when it’s a big crowd, I just see one quite happy, energetic being,” he added.

“If it’s Glastonbury, if it’s a big stage and there’s cameras on me, like a livestream or whatever, that’s different, that’s probably the most difficult. I don’t like that, because you’ve got the big crowd and the singular thing staring at you.”
