‘The King of Kings’ Just Overtook ‘The Chosen: Last Supper’s Combined Box Office Earnings

It was a crowded marketplace for faith-based projects this past weekend, with Angel Studios' animated offering The King of Kings coming out on top. The film beat out all three installments of The Chosen's fifth season, which was released theatrically as The Chosen: Last Supper. Although Last Supper is the top-grossing installment in the television series' history, it has now been overtaken domestically by The King of Kings, and that, too, in just 10 days. The movie, which has been produced and directed by a team of Korean filmmakers, has generated over $45 million domestically so far.
