'The Bear'’s Matty Matheson Turns Heads in New Weight-Loss Transformation Post
Spoiler alert: It all comes down to consistency.

Matty Matheson, known for his role as Neil Fak on The Bear, has been on a significant weight-loss transformation over the past year—and fans are stunned. Since last summer, he's worked to shed weight and is currently down to 278 pounds, 59 pounds from his original starting weight of 337.
In a candid Instagram post Matheson shared last July, he told his fans his weight loss was pretty straightforward and came down to consistent workouts and dietary changes. He also emphasized that consistency is key, noting that even if he could only work out once a week, he always returned to his routine.

In a post from January, Matheson shared how his diet has evolved since starting this journey, saying he’s simplified his meals to stay on track. Out of that need for easy, healthy fuel came the “dog bowl”—a no-frills mix of rice and ground beef. (He’s basically eating like a bodybuilder now.)
"Put down the cheese pizzas every night and make the dog bowl,” he wrote. “Sometimes healthy food ain’t pretty—keep it simple and take care of yourself. Beef egg rice that’s all you need. I’m not a doctor but this will for sure keep you healthy and wealthy and wise.” Matty Matheson
If you know anything about Matheson, you know weight loss is just one part of his larger push toward better health. He’s been sober for nearly 12 years now, and in an interview last November, he recognized there’s a clear link between quitting drugs and alcohol and being more intentional about what he puts into his body.
His commitment to improving his health has become a family affair. While it's clear his wife Trish Spencer is committed to her health (as seen in this shot of her flexing), he now has his kids involved in his training too.
"My kids love working out with me now, which is literally the coolest thing in the world," he said in his Instagram post.
