Texas is the Reason are teasing something

New York post-hardcore/emo vets Texas is the Reason broke up in 1997, but they’ve gotten back together for brief reunions a few of times since then, most recently in 2016. It seems they may have something on the horizon now, too. They’ve returned to social media, updating their cover photo on Facebook and clearing out their Instagram account. We don’t know anything concrete right now, but hopefully there will be news soon. Stay tuned.

This teaser from Texas in the Reason follows recent signs of life from a few other bands, including Jawbreaker, and Minus the Bear. It also follows a message from Las Vegas emo and emo-adjacent festival Best Friends Forever to ticketholders, where they said that “about 70% of the people who responded to our survey requested an artist that has been booked for the 2025 line-up.” Are these details all connected? We’ll see.

We included Texas is the Reason’s only LP, 1996’s Do You Know Who You Are?, in our list of the 21 Albums that Defined ’90s New York Post-Hardcore. Hear it below.
