talkSPORT betting tips – Best racing bets and expert advice for the Aintree Day 1

One of the major highlights of the National Hunt season, the three-day Aintree Festival kicks off on Thursday and it should be a cracking card. There are no fewer than four Grade 1 races to look forward to and the highlight of the day is the Aintree Hurdle, which will see Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth come together once again, this time over 2m4f. Our expert has picked out three strong fancies to follow across the seven-race card and they include a Nicky Henderson-trained runner in the opener who could get him off to a flyer. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Bet £10 Get £30 in free bets* Aintree Day 1 tips 1.45 Aintree – Jango Baie @ 5/2 2.20 Aintree – Puturhandstogether @ 3/1 4.40 Aintree – Hunters Yarn @ 12/1 1.45 Aintree – Jango Baie @ 5/2 Nicky Henderson still has an outside chance of winning the trainers’ title but he’ll need plenty of winners at Aintree this week in order to come out on top. Jango Baie is one of his best chances of the week and he looks well set to complete a Cheltenham and Aintree double. Jango Baie was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles and ran a fine race to finish second in a handicap hurdle here last season. The son of Tiger Groom made the perfect start to his chasing career when getting the better of Springwell Bay in a novice event at Cheltenham in December. That form looks rock-solid as the runner-up went on to dominate in a competitive handicap over the same course and distance on New Years’ Day Jango Baie, meanwhile, came from nowhere to claim victory in the Arkle last time out and the return to 2m4f is a big plus, while his form suggests better ground suits him well.  2.20 Aintree – Puturhandstogether @ 3/1 This race has cut up significantly and without the presence of confirmed Grade 1 performers, Joseph O’Brien’s improving juvenile Puturhandstogether gets the nod. He produced a very impressive performance at Cheltenham last time out and looks ready for the step up in grade. His jumping was to blame when a well beaten third on hurdling debut at Leopardstown, but he took a big step forward in that regard at Cork next time as he managed to get off the mark with a length-and-a-quarter success. Making his handicap debut in the Hallgarten And Novum Wines Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, the son of Caravaggio looked like he was on a different level to his rivals and a handicap mark of 130 clearly wasn’t an accurate reflection of his ability. The handicapper has him on 143 now which looks a little more realistic and his absolutely dominant display at Cheltenham suggests he should be very competitive, with further improvement potentially on the cards. 4.40 Aintree – Hunters Yarn @ 12/1 Hunters Yarn was a fair novice hurdler two seasons ago, winning a Listed contest impressively and finishing second in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse. He confirmed that promise over fences last season and beat the useful Path d’Oroux by 10 lengths in a novice chase. Fifth behind stablemate Gaelic Warrior in the Arkle, that was a reasonable effort and although his two runs this season haven’t quite gone to plan, he should be capable of winning a decent pot off this sort of mark. Willie Mullins’ gelding had excuses when pulling up at Fairyhouse last time out and having been given plenty of time to recover, we could see a much improved display this time around. 1.45 Aintree – Jango Baie @ 5/2

Nicky Henderson still has an outside chance of winning the trainers’ title but he’ll need plenty of winners at Aintree this week in order to come out on top.

That form looks rock-solid as the runner-up went on to dominate in a competitive handicap over the same course and distance on New Years’ Day

Jango Baie, meanwhile, came from nowhere to claim victory in the Arkle last time out and the return to 2m4f is a big plus, while his form suggests better ground suits him well.

2.20 Aintree – Puturhandstogether @ 3/1

This race has cut up significantly and without the presence of confirmed Grade 1 performers, Joseph O’Brien’s improving juvenile Puturhandstogether gets the nod.

The handicapper has him on 143 now which looks a little more realistic and his absolutely dominant display at Cheltenham suggests he should be very competitive, with further improvement potentially on the cards.

4.40 Aintree – Hunters Yarn @ 12/1

Hunters Yarn was a fair novice hurdler two seasons ago, winning a Listed contest impressively and finishing second in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse.
