“Superman” Runtime Now At 140 Minutes?

A runtime of the current cut of James Gunn’s “Superman” has apparently been revealed with The InSneider reporting that the film clocks in at 2 hours and 20 minutes (140 minutes) long.

As there’s still four months to go and talk of some quick additional filming taking place in Ohio next month, the film could still undergo further tweaking.

Both Snyder’s “Man of Steel” and Donner’s original “Superman” clock in at 143 minutes each, while Singer’s “Superman Returns” is the longest solo Superman film at 154 minutes. Gunn’s longest film to date is “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” at 150 minutes.

There have been conflicting reports out of alleged test screenings for the film with the latest round apparently resulting in quite positive reviews with a lot of praise for star David Corenswet along with the film’s balance of comedy and drama.

Gunn’s “Superman” also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spice/The Engineer, and Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard.

Whatever the runtime, “Superman” will be released in cinemas on July 11th 2025.
