Massimo Sunseri has been confirmed as the second driver in BSI Racing’s lineup for the upcoming Toyota GR Cup North America season.
The 16-year-old karting graduate will pilot the No. 51 Toyota GR86 in the single-make series that kicks off at Sonoma Raceway later this month.
Sunseri joins the previously announced Westin Workman in BSI’s lineup.
“I’m very excited to be with BSI this season,” said Sunseri. “This is a big step for me and my goals of racing professionally, so I can’t wait to get out there and compete with the team. I have a lot to learn, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
Sunseri have taken advantage of testing at tracks like the Circuit of The Americas and Sebring International Raceway, two stops on the GR Cup schedule later in the season, in preparation for the competition ahead.
“It has been a pleasure working with Massimo and getting him acclimated to the car,” said team owner Shea Holbrook.
“We appreciate how serious he’s taking his preparation for the season. Spec racing is tough and at times unforgiving with the level of competition. We’re thrilled to have him on board this season and can’t wait to help him get where he wants to be in his career.”
