Sime Motors today launched EV Next, which it says is the first used electric vehicle (EV) dealership in Malaysia. With showrooms in Glenmarie, Chan Sow Lin and TREC, EV Next aims to make owning a used EV more accessible and hassle-free. Moving forward, the network will be expanded to include Penang, Tebrau and Johor Bahru showrooms.
“The demand of electric vehicles has been on a steady growth in Malaysia, reflecting the popularity of sustainable mobility. We are proud to introduce the first used EV dealership in Malaysia, designed to cater to diverse lifestyles. Our unwavering commitment to driving progress towards a greener future ensures we deliver the best products and solutions to our customers across the region,” said Andrew Basham, managing director of Sime Motors.
EV Next, an extension of Auto Selection, offers a wide selection of models from EV brands such as BMW, BYD, Hyundai, MINI, Jaguar, Porsche, Volvo and more (explore the catalogue here). Vehicles are certified and thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet a certain quality standard before being put up for sale. With EVs, these checks include determining the health of the battery and electric motor(s).
The vehicles must also have a clean history, in that they have not been involved in any major accidents or be subject to any flood or fire damage. As a one-stop solution for used EV buyers, EV Next also accepts vehicle trade-ins and is supported by Sime Motors’ Drivecare, which provides aftersales services for a variety of models from various brands.
“Backed by our extensive expertise in the automotive industry, EV Next is a one-stop centre for all used EVs from vehicle retail to trade-ins and aftersales support. We see a demand in good conditioned used EVs in the market and are confident in delivering high quality products to our customers,” commented Jeffrey Gan, Sime Motors managing director of Southeast Asia.
“Our comprehensive end-to-end service ensures peace of mind throughout their EV ownership experience. By doing so, we aim to build trust, reliability and confidence at every stage of the EV ownership experience,” he added.
