NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced Saint-Boniface, Que., as the winner of the 2025 Kraft Hockeyville contest during Saturday night’s Hockey Night in Canada broadcast on Sportsnet.
Saint-Boniface was one of four finalists and beat out Crossfield, Alta., Honeywood, Ont., and Lower Sackville, N.S., to win.
With the win, Saint-Bonifance will receive a grand prize of $250,000 to be used towards arena upgrades and will have an opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.
The three runner-ups won’t be left empty-handed, however, as they’ll all receive $25,000 for arena upgrades, while all four communities will be given $10,000 in new hockey equipment, courtesy of NHLPA Goals & Dreams.
Last year, Elliot Lake, Ont. won, with Sudbury, Ont. playing host to a pre-season outing between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators.
