Report: Warriors’ Stephen Curry suffered hamstring strain, to miss Game 2
Star point guard Stephen Curry suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain and will miss Game 2 vs. Minnesota, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday.

The Golden State Warriors likely will be short-handed for a majority of their playoff series against Minnesota.
Star point guard Stephen Curry suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain and will miss Game 2 vs. Minnesota, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday.
Charania added that the timeline to return is unclear as it’s the first injury of this kind in Curry’s career, but that the Warriors expect their star to miss at least one week.
Curry played only 12 minutes in Game 1 on Tuesday before leaving and was quickly ruled out. The 37-year-old had 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
If Curry were to miss the minimum expected timeline of a week, his estimated return could be in Game 6 or 7.
Gary Payton II is the leading candidate to take over the starting role in Curry’s absence. The backup guard played 25 minutes in Game 1, the most of any Golden State bench player.
Guard Pat Spencer is also expected to see an increased role. The 28-year-old averaged only six minutes a night in the regular season, but played 10 on Tuesday.
