Report: Giants sign QB Jameis Winston to two-year, $8 million deal
Jameis Winston has agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with the New York Giants, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Jameis Winston is reportedly heading to the Big Apple.
The veteran quarterback has agreed to a two-year, $8-million deal with the New York Giants, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Winston, 30, spent last season, his 10th in the NFL, with the Cleveland Browns. He posted totals of 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on a 61.1-per-cent completion percentage through 12 games and seven starts.
The Florida State product was originally drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015. Winston spent his first five years with the Bucs, earning a Pro Bowl nod as a rookie, before spending four years with the New Orleans Saints and last season in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, according to Pelissero, the addition of Winston won’t stop the Giants from considering a quarterback when selecting third overall in the upcoming 2025 draft or adding another snap-taker through free agency.
The Giants went through a carousel of quarterbacks in 2024 after they benched and subsequently released former No. 1 option Daniel Jones following Week 10.
New York finished 3-14 last year with Jones, along with Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle all playing under centre throughout the campaign. They’ve been linked to multiple QBs in the upcoming draft including Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. New York picks third overall.
DeVito was the lone QB on the roster before the Winston move.
