The Toronto Raptors could be without their steadiest presence when they face the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

Forward Scottie Barnes was listed as questionable on the afternoon injury report due to a joint contusion on his right hand.

The injury was revealed Thursday when head coach Darko Rajakovic told reporters it was affecting Barnes’ shooting ability.

“It hurts at times, and then in games it gets hit, it hurts more than it usually hurts, but, you know, it’s a pretty daily thing,” Barnes said Thursday in the hallway outside the Raptors locker room after a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. “It’s not a risk of hurting it more, nothing crazy, but when it gets hit, it takes a minute or two to calm it down.”

As fellow starters RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and Jakob Poeltl have alternated rest nights down the stretch, Barnes has continued to suit up even while Toronto is out of playoff contention.

Barrett and Agbaji will miss Friday’s game against the Pistons as they rest once again, joining Ulrich Chomche (right knee), Gradey Dick (right knee) and Brandon Ingram (left ankle) on the sidelines.

In 62 games, Barnes is averaging 18.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 29.8 per cent on three pointers and 44 per cent overall.
