Pixel 9a selfie previews are flickering like mad, but there’s an easy fix (Updated: Fixed)
A software update seems to have broken broke the Pixel 9a selfie viewfinder.

- The Pixel 9a is exhibiting an odd “flickering” behavior during front-facer previews.
- The camera seems to be unable to decide on exposure settings, and jumps between different brightness levels.
- Despite the jarring preview effect, actual images taken with the phone appear normal.
Update, April 18, 2025 (03:40 AM ET): Pixel 9a’s camera viewfinder flickering issues have been resolved with the latest update rolling out to the Pixel Camera app. If you are still facing the issue with the selfie camera, ensure that you have updated to Pixel Camera 9.8.102.748116395.16, which fixed the flickering issue on our end.
