Pattinson On Being ‘Too Old’ For Batman

Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” hit cinemas in 2022, and the upcoming “The Batman: Part II” will arrive in late 2027, five-and-a-half years later.

It has taken a long time for the project to come together, speculation rife that filmmaker Matt Reeves has been dealing with personal issues that have delayed things – as did the WGA strikes.

No-one is more aware of the delays than the film’s star Robert Pattinson who has been out promoting Bong Joon Ho’s “Mickey 17” opening later this month.

Talking to Hero Magazine, Pattinson was asked if he’ll begin working on the “Batman” sequel soon. His response?

“I f—ing hope so. I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be f—ing old Batman by the sequel.”

If filming kicks off towards year’s end as planned, Pattinson will be 39 by the time he slips back on the cape, he was 33/34 when the first one was shot. Christian Bale filmed his final Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” at age 37.

“The Batman Part II” will be released in theaters on October 1st 2027.
