It has been a major day for TV series renewals with a bunch of new season orders handed out for network shows and a streamer.
First up, CBS has confirmed that it has renewed eight of its most popular scripted shows for the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
The “Young Sheldon” spin-off “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” has been granted a second season while the Justin Hartley-led “Tracker” will get a third season. Also going for a third season is “The Good Wife” spin-off “Elsbeth”.
The “NCIS” franchise has scored three renewals. The main series returns for a 23rd season, while the prequel series “NCIS: Origins” will get a second and the Australia-set “NCIS: Sydney” will get a third. The latter has just begun airing its second season run and will begin shooting its third season on Monday.
The Max Thieriot-led “Fire Country” is coming back for a fourth season, while hit sitcom “Ghosts” has landed a two-season renewal order for that show’s fifth and sixth seasons, taking it through to 2027.
On NBC, the single-camera comedy series “St. Denis Medical” and the Reba McEntire-led multi-camera comedy “Happy’s Place” have received early renewals, with both to receive second seasons.
On streaming, Hulu has renewed the Sterling K. Brown-led thriller series “Paradise” for a second season. That show will end its first season run on March 4th on Hulu and will then come to broadcast with ABC to air the first season starting April 7th. The second season goes into production in the Spring.
