Pair of Vasser Sullivan Lexus entries for Long Beach GTD

Vasser Sullivan Racing will once again enter its two Lexus RC F GT3s at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, as the team aims for its third consecutive win around the California street circuit.

With only the GTD class taking part in the 100-minute sprint race, the No. 14 GTD PRO Lexus will be renumbered to 89, and GTD PRO driver Aaron Telitz will be joined by Frankie Montecalvo. Telitz and Montecalvo competed together in 2022 and ’23 and scored podium finishes in both races.

Meanwhile, the full-season No. 12 GTD Lexus will retain its regular line-up of Jack Hawksworth and Parker Thompson. Hawksworth won GTD PRO in 2023 alongside co-driver Ben Barnicoat, on their way to the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech GTD PRO championship. Thompson teamed with Barnicoat in 2024 to win GTD as the reigning champions were split between the two cars.

“Both of the Vasser Sullivan Lexus entries know their way around the streets of Long Beach with really strong results there recently,” said Jeff Bal, Senior Manager of Lexus Motorsports. “We’re looking forward to having two cars competing next weekend and we’re expecting both to find their way to the podium on Saturday afternoon. It would be great to capture another win in Long Beach with the Lexus RC F GT3.”

The No. 89 Vasser Sullivan Lexus will be one of two GTD PRO cars making cameo appearances in GTD at Long Beach, to be joined by the No. 177 AO Racing “Rexy” Porsche of Jonny Edgar and Laurens Vanthoor.
