‘Not my first rodeo’ – Made in Chelsea star made incredible gesture after winning five-figure Cheltenham bet

Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo once scooped a cool £37,500 at Cheltenham Festival before making a wholesome gesture. The 30-year-old won big on day one of the annual race event in 2022 but claimed her winnings were down to ‘beginners luck.’ Georgia Toffolo managed to win £37,500 at Cheltenham on the first race of the dayGetty ‘Toff’ tasted almost immediate success at her first taste of the Festival when her £5,000 bet came in. She laid half of her money down on Constitution Hill to win the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and Jonbon to finish second at 14-1 – with returns of £37,500. Meanwhile, the rest of her cash went on Jonbon to pass the posy followed by Constitution Hill at 18-1, which would have netted her a whopping £47,500 if it had come in. With Constitution Hill as a 9-4 favourite along with Dysart Dynamo, Toff was no doubt feeling luck was on her side when the latter fell three fences from the finish line. Jonbon went off at 5-1 and she was left in jubilant mood when both the horses she bet on, crossed the line as the front two. Toff took to social media to share news of her big win with her followers before making the heartwarming gesture that she would be using the money to make a donation to charity. She wrote: “OH MY GOD beginners luck. Bloody hell, can’t believe it. Generous donation incoming to both the @BritishRedCross and @decappeal.” A sizeable donation was also transferred to the Disaster Emergency Committee in the Ukraine just weeks after the Russian invasion of the country. The organisation replied: “Thank you so much for supporting our appeal Georgia! “Your contribution will help aid reach our member charities in Ukraine and neighbouring countries!” Check out all the best Cheltenham Festival free bets and offers at our dedicated page She shared news of her winnings on social media While fans were quick to point out that her 5k bet was not the type to be taken by a novice, Toff clarified the situation. She wrote: “Seeing some confusion re my caption – beginners luck because it was the first race of the festival! “It is not, one might say my first rodeo.” It remains to be seen whether she will return for this week’s festivities but history suggests she might not be the worst person for punters to take a tip from. This year’s edition of the Festival could be the booziest one yet, with an estimated 380,000 pints of Guinness set to be consumed. However, they may need some of Toff’s money to afford a pint given it will cost almost £8. All eyes this year will be on whether Galopin Des Champs will win the Gold Cup in Friday’s featured race. The Willie Mullins-trained horse is a favourite to become only the fourth horse to win the race three times, which would equal the tally of Cottage Rake, Arkle and Best Mate. “If he does win it would be absolutely phenomenal,” former jockey Lizzie Kelly told the Hawksbee and Jacobs show on talkSPORT. talkSPORT will have live coverage of all the action from Cheltenham throughout the week.
