Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) has joined the cast of “Dexter: Resurrection.” The Emmy and Tony winner will guest star as a character named Lowell.
Currently in production in New York, the continuation of “Dexter: New Blood” is expected to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Michael C. Hall will reprise his role as serial killer Dexter Morgan alongside David Zayas as Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
Peter Dinklage will play the season’s villain, Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist, with Uma Thurman as Charley, a former Special Ops officer who serves as his right-hand woman.
Krysten Ritter will recur as Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier who may be hiding a serial killer secret. Other newcomers to the franchise include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusaand, and Emilia Suárez.
Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner and executive producer. Hall also executive produces along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns.
Fellow “Dexter” alumnus Marcos Siega serves as producing director. He’ll helm four episodes, with Monica Raymund (“Dexter: Original Sin”) directing the other four.
“Dexter: Resurrection” plot details are being kept under wraps, but viewers got a peak at what happened following the final moments of “Dexter: New Blood” with the recent prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin.”
Based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, “Dexter” ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013. It was revived in 2001 with “Dexter: New Blood.” Hall returned to narrate as Dexter’s inner voice in “Dexter: Original Sin,” which debuted in December.
