‘NCIS’ Star Says Fans Should Brace for an "Earth-Shattering" and "Heartbreaking" Character Death in Season 22 Finale

NCIS is wrapping Season 22 this Monday, May 5, and the show has some major things planned, according to series star Wilmer Valderrama. The actor who plays Nick Torres appeared on CBS Mornings and discussed the upcoming season finale with the show's hosts. Valderrama revealed that the season-ender features a major death that will shake up the show's main crew. "Somebody does die, and it's not the murder of the week. It's somebody very ... unfortunately ... very close to us and it's going to be very earth-shattering and really heartbreaking," the actor said. He refused to reveal who the victim is, even when his character was floated around as the potential victim. The death will have far-reaching consequences beyond the episode and into the succeeding season. "The biggest idea was to say 'how do we disrupt the peace of Season 22 and set out the tone for Season 23,' and this episode does that better than we've done in many years," Valderrama teased.
