Meghann Fahy & Brandon Sklenar Talk ‘Drop’ in New Featurette

Stars Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar discuss the “absolutely terrifying” premise of Drop in the new featurette below.

“It’s definitely gonna keep you on the edge of your seat,” promises Fahy. “The thing that’s so scary about the film is that you could totally see a world in which this could happen to someone.

Produced by Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the horror-thriller drops into theaters on April 11 from Universal.

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) directs from a script by Jillian Jacobs & Christopher Roach (Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island).

Violet (Fahy), a widowed mother on her first date in years, arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (Brandon) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.

She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.

Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffery Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson round out the cast.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review out of SXSW, “Drop is a swift, fun thriller that’s impeccably crafted right down to the production design, featuring a cast that seems to be having as much fun as Landon is flexing his creative muscles while paying tribute to the greats.”
