He is the club’s joint top goalscorer alongside Bruno Fernandes with nine goals in all competitions, while only the club captain, with 12, has provided more assists than Amad, who has seven. His versatility in being able to play at either wing-back or in the front three, as well as his impressive intelligence in pressing, made him incredibly important. Amad released a statement on social media, confirming he would be out for “some time”. He said: “Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season.
