Liverpool are back in Premier League action this afternoon as they take on Wolves at Anfield.

It’s a quick turnaround for Arne Slot’s side following Wednesday’s thrilling Merseyside derby – the last one at Goodison Park.

Mohamed Salah had the Reds on course for victory in what was the final derby at Goodison Park before the Toffees move to their new stadium this summer.

But James Tarkowski’s stunning equaliser earned David Moyes’ side a draw to halt Liverpool’s momentum ever so slightly.

Despite that disappointment, Liverpool are still seven points clear of Arsenal at the top of the league with the Gunners’ prospects looking somewhat bleaker following news Kai Havertz is ruled out for the rest of the season.

Curtis Jones was sent off for scrapping with Abdoulaye Doucoure after the final whistle on Wednesday night, ruling him out of Sunday’s game at Anfield.

Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also shown red cards by Michael Oliver during the chaotic conclusion at Goodison for ‘using offensive, insulting, or abusive language.’

Slot and his assistant have been charged with acting “‘in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour’ towards Oliver.

Liverpool have until Wednesday to launch appeal with Slot likely to remain on the touchline today.

As far as the squad is concerned, the Liverpool boss has an almost fully fit group to choose from with Trent Alexander-Arnold making his return from injury midweek.

Cody Gakpo is their only midweek casualty, picking up a knock at Everton that leaves him a doubt for today.

Joe Gomez is still being assessed after he was forced off early in last Sunday’s defeat to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.

Predicted Liverpool XI to face Wolves

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Nunez
