Live updates: Trump to call into NewsNation town hall

President Trump is set to call into NewsNation's "Cuomo Town Hall" Wednesday night to mark his first 100 days in office.

The town hall can be watched live above from 8 p.m. ET to 9:50 p.m. ET

Trump's appearance will come after numerous polls in recent days have shown his approval ratings faltering. A DDHQ/NewsNation poll released Tuesday found him with a 44-percent approval rating.

Earlier on Wednesday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) weighed in on the president's impact so far in several speeches. Jeffries (D-N.Y.) teased a project from House Democrats, outlining a “blueprint for a better America” as President Trump marks 100 days in office — but being sure to note it will not be about the president.

The 100th day coincided with economic news. The first-quarter GDP data released early Wednesday by the Commerce Department showed the economy shrank as a surge of imports ahead of Trump’s tariffs took a bite out of economic growth calculations. Meanwhile, The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index held steady from February to March while dropping to an annual increase of 2.3 percent from 2.7 percent in February, Commerce reported.

The president, however, insisted Wednesday morning that the economy is former President Biden's and urged people to "be patient."

As he passes the 100-day benchmark, polls show Trump has lost popularity, raising eyebrows for Republicans starting to look toward the 2026 midterms.
