Brad Keselowski topped the final NASCAR Cup Series practice session ahead of the 67th annual Daytona 500.
Keselowski set the fastest lap, a 193.307 mph (46.558s) run, while in a draft. The No. 6 Ford Mustang was one of many from the Ford camp who ran in a single-file draft of about 15 cars early in the session.
Alex Bowman was second fastest at 193.274 mph. Cole Custer was third fastest at 193.212 mph, and Justin Allgaier was fourth fastest at 193.204 mph. Kyle Larson completed the top five at 193.195 mph.
Bowman, Allgaier, and Larson ran in a five-car draft late in practice. Joey Logano and Helio Castroneves were also in the draft.
Corey Lajoie was sixth fastest at 193.166 mph, Ryan Preece was seventh fastest at 193.029 mph, and Justin Haley was eighth fastest at 193.005 mph. Chris Buescher was ninth fastest at 192.707 mph, and Zane Smith rounded out the top 10 at 192.707 mph.
There were only 24 teams who participated in final practice of the 41 who will start Sunday’s race. Cup Series champion Joey Logano was 12th fastest in final practice. Josh Berry was 14th, Martin Truex Jr. was 15th, Shane van Gisbergen was 19th, and Castroneves was 20th.
Austin Cindric was 21st fastest. Cindric starts on the front row Sunday alongside polesitter Chase Briscoe.
Jimmie Johnson was 22nd fastest in practice and defending Daytona 500 winner William Byron was 23rd fastest.
There were no incidents during the session.
The most laps run in practice was 28 by Keselowski, Bowman, and Preece. The fewest laps run was two by Byron.
