Jean Silva took care of business at UFC Seattle, and potentially set up some future business by calling out Bryce Mitchell.
Jean Silva took care of business at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event in Seattle … and potentially set up some future business as well.
The streaking Brazilian extended his overall winning streak to 12 by earning his fourth consecutive stoppage win at the UFC level, flattening fellow featherweight Melsik Baghdasaryan with a right hand then following up the win by calling out the polarizing Bryce Mitchell.
“There’s a guy that’s been talking a lot of crap,” Silva said via a translator following his first-round victory over Baghdasaryan. “Bryce Mitchell. Dana, put me in front of him and I’ll do the job.

Mitchell made headlines in late January and was on the receiving end of criticism for comments he made about Adolf Hitler during an episode of his podcast. Comments UFC president Dana White addressed by saying: “I’ve heard a lot of dumb, ignorant (expletive) in my day, but this one’s probably the worst.”
When asked at the time if Mitchell would face any discipline for his comments, White said: “That’s what everybody wants to hear about, punishment. It’s free speech, I don’t have to love it, you don’t have to love it … That’s the beautiful thing about this business, for all of you who hate Bryce Mitchell, you get to see him hopefully get his ass whooped on global television.”
Could that potentially end up being against Silva, a popular member of the vaunted Fighting Nerds team in his native Brazil?
Silva is not ranked in the 145-pound division, while Mitchell currently sits as the No. 13 contender. He last fought at UFC 310 in December when he picked up a knockout win over Kron Gracie.
The 28-year-old had KO/TKO wins over Westin Wilson, Charles Jourdain and Drew Dober during his UFC rookie campaign in 2024.
Only one of Silva’s wins during his career has been by decision. Mitchell is 17-2 in MMA with his two loses coming to Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria.
