Jaminet Tops Second Day of Sebring Test
Penske Porsche paces first day of GTP/LMP2 running as GTD Pro/GTD testing wraps up...

Mathieu Jaminet led the way in the second day of IMSA-sanctioned testing at Sebring International Raceway, in what marked the first running for GTP and LMP2 machinery.
The Frenchman in the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963 reeled off a best lap of 1:48.465 in Wednesday’s opening session to end up 0.592 seconds quicker than afternoon pace-setter Scott Dixon in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06.
The No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Jack Aitken ended up third quickest of the day.
Both Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden, who were listed to test with Porsche Penske, did not turn laps on Wednesday.
LMP2 was led by the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca 07 Gibson of Tom Dillmann, thanks to a 1:50.065 lap set in the second of three sessions of the day.
That same session saw an accident for the No. 18 Era Motorsport Oreca of David Heinemeier Hansson, although the No. 18 Era Motorsport entry returned to action for the two-hour long night session.
The night session ended with an incident by Felipe Fraga in the No. 74 Riley Oreca in Turn 15 with less than three minutes left on the clock.
The No. 32 Korthoff Competition Motors Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Maxi Goetz ended up quickest of the GT cars as their two-day test wrapped up.
Goetz’s 2:00.867 lap time set in the third and final session of the day was considerably quicker than Jan Heylen’s pace-setting time from Tuesday.
Jesse Krohn in the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 was the fastest GTD Pro competitor on Wednesday.
Testing concludes on Wednesday with two final sessions for GTP and LMP2 competitors only.
