James Patterson, one of the most successful authors in history, and Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, YouTube’s biggest star, have teamed up to write a novel.
Deadline reports that film, TV and book rights have ignited an eight-figure bidding war. An accompanying nonfiction book is also said to be part of the package.
Potentially titled The Most Dangerous Game, the thriller is said to have shades of “Squid Game.”
The logline reads: “Players fight to survive deadly tests held in dangerous locations around the world, as they battle to become ‘The One.'”
It’s being repped by UTA on behalf of MrBeast and by Robert Barnett and Deneen Howell of Williams & Connolly on behalf of Patterson.
Patterson’s previous literary collaborators include Michael Crichton, Bill Clinton, Viola Davis, and Dolly Parton.
