Jake Paul’s ex-world champion opponent releases training footage and fans convinced of result

Fans believe Jake Paul will beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr after seeing footage of him training. Paul has announced he will face former world champion Chavez Jr on June 28 in California, in a real test of his boxing credentials. Chavez Jr showed off his power on the pads Chavez Jr has fought just once since 2021, and is far away from his prime years in the sport where he was fought and beaten by the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs. And fans believe it will be the lesser experienced boxer Paul who will get his hand raised after seeing Chavez Jr in training. The Mexican crushed the pads, but missed with some shots and didn’t look as precise and as accurate as he has done in his past. Reacting to the footage, one fan said: “There is no way on earth that Chavez wins, he doesn’t care about his record, he wants a huge payday. “Remember, everyone thought Tyson will win against Paul, he didn’t, and everyone came up with excuses, this is no different, Paul will win.” Another agreed: “Yes Chavez Jr is a real boxer but he’s shot! He’s been shot for years. No way he wins in my opinion.” One even added: “That was horrible. He’s gonna get scraped by Jake Paul.” Others backed Chavez, with one suggesting: “If Chavez actually fights Paul will lose. Not ready for a Chavez that will fight.” A final fan concluded: “I got Chavez winning fairly easily. “Is he a world class fighter, no? Does he have the skills to beat Jake Paul, of course.” View Tweet: https://t.co/nr3O047EHy Chavez is the son of former Hall of Fame legend Julio Cesar Chavez. His last outing came last year against Uriah Hall, a points win on the undercard of Paul’s clash with Mike Perry. The bout will take place at cruiserweight and defeat for Paul could be a significant blow to his chances of the biggest names. Paul has recently called out Gervonta Davis, Anthony Joshua and Canelo with a fight yet to have materialised. But victory over Chavez Jr could be the key to enter negotiations for a shot at boxing’s biggest names, especially combined with his win over Tyson.
