It's 2025 And 'Revenge of the Sith' Made How Much In Movie Theaters This Weekend?

Pretty much every Monday morning, I get up and I do the same thing: I make my coffee and I check Box Office Mojo to see how the weekend went at the movies. And when I woke up today, I thought I was back in high school again. That's because Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith made $25.2 million this weekend in theaters. And it's not just in the USA, but the movie added another $17 million at the international box office, as well. - YouTube www.youtube.com The movie was rereleased for the 20th anniversary, and it has been going gangbusters over the last three days, cracking into the top two movies, just behind Sinners, and selling out screenings all over the country. Again, this is a movie you could watch on Disney+ at home...that came out 20 years ago...that had really stiff competition. It shows the audience's appetite to see movies in theaters for the experience, and it should get studios to think about how to market their older, popular titles to the movie-going crowd. At a time when movie theaters are looking for an identity and studios are trying to maximize profits, this is a creative solution for them both to combine forces and to get some old titles out from storage. Movies can span generations, and there are always parents who want to show their favorite titles to their kids. The market is huge for new and nostalgic viewers alike. There are hundreds of titles I've never seen on the big screen that I believe should come back, and I am sure you have your personal favorites, too. Hopefully, studios take notice and start some sort of strategy to make these titles a mainstay weekly. I do believe this is a cheap and effective way to get people interested in going to the movies, as well as to capitalize on these extensive libraries.
