Meslier was at fault for both of Swansea City’s goals in their 2-2 draw last weekend, with many Leeds fans calling for a change.

Manager Daniel Farke confirmed Karl Darlow will start against Luton Town in their Championship clash tomorrow, live on talkSPORT 2.

Such a decision was previously made by Allardyce, who told talkSPORT about why he did so during his short tenure in 2023.

“I dropped him Alan,” he told Alan Brazil on Friday’s Breakfast show. “I left him out because of his previous form.

Meslier was benched in all four of Allardyce’s matches at Leeds ahead of their relegation from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.

The 25-year-old has made 82 Championship appearances since then but mistakes have been common in the current campaign.

One of his most notable errors came in October when Leeds were leading Sunderland 2-1 in stoppage-time.

Meslier failed to catch a ball in the box and allowed it to creep in for 2-2, with Farke’s side therefore dropping points late on.

Three months later during the 3-3 draw at Hull City, he parried a cross into the path of an opposition player who subsequently scored.

It sparked angry and frustrated reactions from his teammates as Leeds missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.

They are level with Burnley on 81 points but ahead on goal difference whilst sitting behind Sheffield United ahead of the final seven games.
