‘I don’t race for free’ – iShowSpeed left stunned after Sha’Carri Richardson’s brutal verdict on sprint showdown
iShowSpeed challenged Sha’Carri Richardson to an impromptu race as the pair crossed paths at the Super Bowl. The NFL and YouTube hosted a flag football showdown between content creators Speed and Kai Cenat on the eve of the big game, with the likes of Cam Newton, Michael Vick, Jordan Chiles and Quavo all involved in the fun. Speed crossed paths with US track star Richardson ahead of the Super Bowl Richardson, an American track and field star, was also present at the event. The 24-year-old was part of the US team that won the 4×100m relay at the Paris Olympics last summer, and she also won silver in the 100m event. Despite her already impressive CV, which also boasts gold in the 100m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, Speed believes he can match her in a sprint. “I’m in race shape, let’s race right now,” he proposed on his livestream, before being taken down a peg by Richardson. The track star responded, ‘I don’t race for free’ and suggested the YouTuber needs to learn how to beat a sprinter at one of her training camps. However, that didn’t deter Speed, who accused Richardson of ducking him, before the pair seemingly agreed to race at a later time in Texas. While we will have to wait and see if anything does come to fruition, Speed has shown off his athletic prowess on multiple occasions in recent months. Last November, he came close to beating Noah Lyles in a 50m race, when he hosted the fastest man in the world on a livestream. When the starting gun went off, it was Speed who got off to the better start, leading Lyles early in the race. The Olympic 100m champion then put on the afterburners and the pair were neck and neck with about 25m to go. The lifelong wrestling fan had accepted an invitation from Head of Creative and Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque to attend the show. He spent much of the night livestreaming backstage, but things took a turn when WWE star Akira Tozawa was laid out by a rival on his way to the ring for the rumble match.
