Mowbray is without a club after leaving West Brom in April after three months in charge. Selles secured Hull’s Championship status on the final day of the season after a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth on Saturday. The result was enough to lift his side out of the relegation zone on goal difference at Luton’s expense. Hull appointed Selles on a two-and-a-half year deal in December after sacking Tim Walter. The former Reading boss went on to win nine of his 28 matches in charge across all competitions. If dismissed, Selles would become the second Championship manager to depart since the final day after Watford sacked Tom Cleverley on Tuesday. Owner Acun Ilicali has already dismissed two managers since the end of the 2023/24 season. Liam Rosenior was let go after the Tigers narrowly missed out on a play-off place 12 months ago. His replacement Walter lasted just 18 matches in the dugout, though, before being sacked. Speaking to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook after the draw with Pompey, Ilicali said: “I have zero doubts about the decision. “I want to mention something, I think Liam is a top coach and he’s a good friend of mine. Even this week, we talked to him and we talked to him almost every month. “When he was leaving us, I said Liam will be a big coach and I’m sure that he will develop and be fantastic. Already he’s doing so many good things.” Rosenior joined French side Strasbourg following his exit from the MKM Stadium. The 40-year-old has since guided the club to European qualification during his first season in charge. Strasbourg sit sixth in Ligue 1 with just two matches remaining this term. His side could still finish as high as second and secure Champions League qualification come the end of the campaign.
