One addition to the next two “Avengers” films has been confirmed with British actress Hayley Atwell set to return for both parts.
The news was revealed in a feature piece on Hollywood lawyers published today at THR which goes into recent deals of a number of high-profile law firms.
That includes Ziffren Brittenham where it mentions the firm closed “Hayley Atwell’s deal to star in Marvel’s Avengers 5 and 6”.
Atwell was tipped to be coming back in trade reports in December last year, but when her name did NOT appear on the recent casting chair reveal announcement – those reports came into question. Now that she’s set, her name will likely be in the next batch of revealed names from the studio.
Atwell played her role of Peggy Carter across two “Captain America” films, two “Avengers” films, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Ant-Man,” animated series “What If?” and her own two-season TV series “Agent Carter” which scored good acclaim.
Atwell most recently voiced Lara Croft in Netflix’s animated “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” series and will be seen next reprising her role of Grace in “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” opening next month.
Anthony and Joe Russo are returning to direct “Avengers: Doomsday” which is about to begin filming in the UK.
