Amorim’s team have struggled for goals this season with the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund failing to convince. And Neville believes Cunha’s adventurous style of play, allied to his versatility, are exactly what the Red Devils require. He told Sky Sports: ‘They’re desperate in that position, he would suit the system. What has Cunha said about leaving Wolves? While happy to turn down offers and stay at the club in January, Cunha has been vocal about his desire to move on to pastures new in the summer. ‘I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,’ Cunha told the Guardian in March. ‘Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone. ‘Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.’ ‘They’ve let Jadon Sancho, Antony and Marcus Rashford go, they’re playing with Garnacho at the moment but that leaves them lopsided. ‘They need someone who can beat players, someone who is equally as good at running through the middle with the ball. ‘They need to score goals, Manchester United.’ Asked to explain United’s lack of goals this season following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Cunha’s Wolves side, Amorim said: ‘It’s a team thing. ‘Of course we have an idea of what this team needs but also the guys we play with, we play at least three guys in front to score goals and we have midfielder. ”All the team needs to score more goals and you have opportunities with the midfielders and the striker. ‘We need to improve as a team because if you don’t score goals in this league it’s impossible to win games.’
