Focal Launches 'Bathys MG' Audiophile Wireless Headphones
French luxury audio brand, Focal, has unveiled Bathys MG – a set of premium, high-fidelity headphones that mark an evolution in its wireless headphones range. The new Bathys MG headphones arrive in warm chestnut brown, a color scheme inspired by another of the brand's iconic models the Clear MG. Focal has used premium real leather on the headbands and ergonomic foam in the earpads for maximum comfort, with aluminum and durable magnesium yoke making up most of the frame.Internally, Focal has found further use for magnesium, using the metal in the construction of the headphones' custom-built speaker drivers: made in France, the drivers feature 'M'-shaped domes that the brand says allows users to experience "natural, dynamic and extremely detailed" high-fidelity sound without the need for wires. Focal has also included active noise cancellation (ANC) on the Bathys MG to combine the best of both worlds: high quality audiophile-grade audio that is complimented and made more immersive through ANC.The headphones use Bluetooth 5.2 and feature multipoint connectivity. When used wirelessly, users can expect to get 30 hours of battery life, though this can extended up to 42 hours using the wired USB-DAC mode. They can also be fast-charged, with 15 minutes of charge providing five hours of playback. Compatible codecs include SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive and aptX. They lightweight at just 350g and Focal is including a tonal rigid carrying case (also in chestnut brown) to keep them safe while travelling.Focal's Bathys MG headphones launch in April and will be priced at £999 GBP / $1,299 USD.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
