Filming on the new live-action “Masters of the Universe” film is underway in the UK and the first set photos have emerged of actor Nicholas Galitzine, who plays Prince Adam/He-Man, filming early scenes in the production.
The photos seem to confirm rumors that the movie will be partially set on Earth before Adam returns to Eternia. In the shots, his character is dressed in his signature pink and is being arrested by two British cops who also seem to be confiscating his iconic Power Sword.
An official synopsis for the film hasn’t been released but a previous synopsis suggests the film sees a young Prince Adam sent to Earth as a very young kid for his protection.
Almost two decades later he considers the story of Eternia just tales he heard as a little kid. He’s soon whisked back to Eternia to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor and to do so must uncover the mysteries of his past.
The film’s cast includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and Jared Leto as Skeletor.
Also onboard are James Purefoy as Kind Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.
Travis Knight is directing the film from a script by Chris Butler with first draft by David Callaham, and Aaron and Adam Nee. Story specifics are under wraps. The film is set to release theatrically worldwide on June 5th 2026.
