Oscar Piastri took his second victory of the 2025 Formula 1 season with a dominant victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

He was followed by George Russell's Mercedes, although his podium was initially in doubt due to a post-race investigation into a DRS infringement. He was allowed to keep the result after the circumstances of his breach were explained.

But there was one disqualification - Nico Hulkenberg being stripped of his 13th place later on Sunday night because the plank on his Sauber had worn beyond the minimum permitted thickness of 9mm.

Two other stewards' rulings also affected that area of the results. Jack Doohan was 14th on the road before a five-second penalty for repeated track limits breaches was applied, and Liam Lawson crossed the line 13th but had two penalties totalling 15 seconds for collisions with Lance Stroll and Hulkenberg. Lawson's penalty and Hulkenberg's DSQ meant Doohan was classified 14th after all, while Lawson fell to 16th.

Lando Norris completed the podium with a somewhat shaky recovery from sixth on the grid via a penalty and a long battle with Charles Leclerc's Ferrari at the end of the race.
