EL AL has signed a codeshare agreement with Azerbaijan’s national airline, Azerbaijan Airlines. The agreement includes a codeshare on Azerbaijan Airlines flights from Tel Aviv, which
operate twice daily from Tel Aviv to Baku. Tickets for flights under this cooperation are available for purchase on both companies’ websites or through travel agents.

As part of the cooperation, customers of both companies will be able to fly on flights operated by EL AL and Azerbaijan Airlines under a shared code. EL AL’s code (LY) will be added to flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines from Tel Aviv to Baku and in the future to their connecting flights. EL AL’s frequent flyer members will be able to earn points on flights to Baku.

The cooperation with Azerbaijan Airlines joins other collaborations EL AL has signed over the past year, including a partnership with Delta Air Lines, which includes codeshare flights through various routes to North America, including connecting flights to various destinations in the Americas and mutual benefits for frequent flyer program members; a codeshare agreement with Air France allowing codeshare flights on the Tel Aviv – Paris route, a codeshare agreement with KLM allowing codeshare flights on the Tel Aviv-Amsterdam route, in addition to a frequent flyer program agreement with the Flying Blue loyalty program shared by KLM and Air France, providing mutual benefits for program members. Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed with Virgin Atlantic, including codeshare flights on the Tel Aviv – London route and mutual benefits for frequent flyer program members.

EL AL Is Upgrading Its Flagship Lounge At Ben Gurion Airport – The King David Lounge

EL AL continues to innovate and enhance the service experience for its customers and is now embarking on an upgrade of its flagship lounge at Ben Gurion Airport, the King David Lounge. The upgrade will focus on innovative design and adapting the hospitality experience and lounge services to the highest service standards for the company’s passengers.

During the upgrade period, which will begin early morning on Sunday, February 16, 2025, and is expected to be completed in March, the main lounge will be closed, and eligible customers will receive alternative solutions. The adjacent Top Platinum frequent flyer lounge will remain open and continue to host its passengers, and in the future will also undergo an upgrade to provide a luxurious and modern hospitality experience. Business Class passengers or Platinum status customers can enjoy the new and upgraded Dan Lounge in Concourse E at Ben Gurion Airport, offering a new space, advanced hospitality services, and a culinary menu based on the dishes served in the King David Lounge. GOLD status customers will receive vouchers for restaurants and cafes at Ben Gurion Airport during check-in at the Shalom service counters (counter 100), allowing for a hospitality and dining experience outside the lounge. In case of full occupancy at the Dan Lounge, eligible passengers will receive vouchers for the restaurants and cafes, and accompanying guests will also receive a voucher according to their eligibility.

The reopening of the King David Lounge will take place after the completion of the upgrade works, and an official announcement of the exact date will be published later.
