“Dexter: Resurrection” Sets July 11th Launch

Paramount+ with Showtime has set a July 11th launch date for “Dexter: Resurrection,” the sequel series to flagship show “Dexter” and its revival “Dexter: New Blood”.

A brief teaser trailer has also been released re-introducing Michael C. Hall as titular serial killer Dexter Morgan. The series hails from showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips and production is still ongoing in New York.

The first two episodes will release on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ With Showtime on that date before its on-air debut Sunday, July 13th. The eight remaining episodes will roll out weekly with the finale expected to air on September 5th.

The new series begins weeks after Dexter Morgan (Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son. He awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy.

When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined — and that the only way out is together.

The series also stars Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, James Remar, Ntare Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez with Krysten Ritter recurring and the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Eric Stonestreet, Marc Menchaca and David Dastmalchian guest starring. John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits will also cameo.
