On the heels of 2013’s Event II, Deltron 3030 are “in development” on material for their third album, a release date for which has yet to be announced. Event II, which, like its predecessor, is a concept album set in a dystopian future, featured guest appearances by Damon Albarn, Mike Patton, Zack De La Rocha, the Lonely Island and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Deltron 3030 was released less than a year before Gorillaz’s “Clint Eastwood,” on which Del prominently rapped. The song reached, No. 1 in Italy, No. 2 in Germany and No. 4 on the U.K. Singles Chart, and has accrued more than 936 million plays on Spotify to date.
“That song definitely gave me more notoriety. It gave me a little bit more cash. My value went up,” Del told SPIN in 2023. “I got a platinum plaque from that shit. It was the first platinum plaque I got. That’s nice to have when you’re trying to negotiate and do shit. They respect you in a different way when got that under your belt.”
Before the tour, Kid Koala will stage six June performances in Montreal of his multimedia show The Storyville Mosquito. He’ll also appear July 10 and 11 at Lincoln Center for a Robot Dance Party and a World of Bugs Workshop.
Del also has a new single out with thegoodnews dubbed “fakebreaker.”
