The Cole Harbour, N.S., boys are back together.
Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon skated together alongside Mark Stone at Canada’s first practice ahead of the 4 Nations Face-Off on Monday in Montreal.
Crosby and MacKinnon, who share a hometown, have never received the chance to suit up together in meaningful action, with the latter a member of the North American U-23 team the last time the NHL’s best competed in an international tournament at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Meanwhile, Connor McDavid will skate alongside Sam Reinhart — who is tied with Brayden Point in the NHL for the lead among Canadian players with 31 goals on the year — on a line that also includes another skilled passer in Mitch Marner.
Point will offer his scoring threat on a line with Brad Marchand, who’s used to playing with a sniper in David Pastrnak, and Carolina’s Seth Jarvis.
Tampa Bay Lightning teammates Anthony Cirelli and Brandon Hagel will connect on a fourth line with rival and Florida Panthers pest Sam Bennett.
Travis Konecny did not skate due to illness.
