Could Flames bring up top prospect Zayne Parekh before end of season?
If the Flames fall out of the playoff picture, they can start to plan for their future, or see if one of their top prospects can get a boost for a late push.

The Calgary Flames have enjoyed a season that was better than anticipated, despite a tough road to make the playoffs.
But even if a playoff spot appears out of reach, the Flames can start to plan for their future over the final two weeks and might give one of their top prospects a taste of the NHL.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman initially reported on Saturday Headlines during Hockey Night in Canada that defenceman Zayne Parekh could be on his way to the big club after the Saginaw Spirit were eliminated from the OHL playoffs.
“He’s going to Calgary and we’ll see when they can throw him in there,” Friedman explained on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast Monday. “… I hope Parekh gets a chance to play. I want to see this guy..I know there’s going to be an adjustment period but I really want to see him against NHL competition.”
The 19-year-old registered 33 goals and 107 points this season. He was selected ninth overall in the 2024 NHL Draft and signed his entry-level deal shortly after being drafted.
Calgary is six points behind the Minnesota Wild for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. The Flames have two games in hand on the Wild, who they play on April 11.
