Commercial fit-out advances fast as Noida International Airport opening nears

INDIA. The new Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh – set to be one of the world’s great gateways – is nearing completion with regular operations due to commence by the end of April.

“As we move closer to the airport’s inauguration, fit-out work for retail, duty-free and lounge spaces is well underway. Simultaneously, we are in active discussions with government stakeholders to plan for the passenger terminal’s inauguration,” a Noida International Airport spokesperson told The Moodie Davitt Report.

As reported, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited – a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International – is responsible for the vast new hub’s development, construction and operations.

“Blending Indian warmth and hospitality with Swiss technology and efficiency, NIA is designed to offer a modern, user-friendly experience inspired by India’s rich cultural heritage,” the company said. “With all major commercial partnerships secured, we are set to deliver a seamless, world-class journey for every passenger.”

“Travel Food Services (TFS) and HMSHost India (a subsidiary of Avolta) will offer the best of airport dining with premium lounges and diverse multi-cuisine dining options. The F&B landscape at NIA will celebrate the region’s rich culinary traditions, blending local flavours with global cuisines to create a memorable dining experience. Passengers can expect an exciting culinary journey, featuring specially curated options that evoke a sense of place.

“The lounges, operated by TFS, will offer an engaging environment with live interactive food stations, expansive buffets, an experiential cocktail bar and spa services designed for ultimate relaxation. Complementing this, our partnership with TajSATS will enhance inflight services through a state-of-the-art kitchen dedicated to delivering exceptional catering.”

Noida International has also partnered with currency exchange services specialist Global Exchange Group to provide world-class forex solutions while health and wellness needs on-the-go will be served by Apollo Pharmacy, India’s leading pharmacy chain.

Fast and secure wifi services will be provided through a collaboration with Fusionnet India, ensuring a connected airport experience.

Development reached a significant milestone in December with the successful completion of a validation flight operated by IndiGo. The critical step confirmed the precision of NIA’s approach procedures, navigational aids and air traffic control systems, bringing the airport closer to commissioning in 2025.

“At the heart of NIA’s development is a strong focus on passenger convenience. We’ve partnered with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to introduce an all-electric ‘NIA Branded Taxi’ fleet and with Statiq to establish comprehensive EV charging infrastructure across the airport,” the company said.

Supporting seamless transportation, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will operate fuel stations within the airport premises, ensuring uninterrupted access to high-quality fuelling services.

Additionally, a partnership with Indraprastha Gas Limited will develop Compressed Natural Gas infrastructure at the airport, offering sustainable mobility infrastructure for passengers, employees and partners.
