The Saints relegation back to The Championship will be confirmed imminently and render what may have already been remote hopes of keeping their prize asset impossible. A host of top flight clubs are circling with intent, while Dibling also has European suitors in the shape of Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig. Southampton, however, value the teenager at over £100 million, a stance that the Telegraph claim has ‘frustrated’ clubs interested in signing the attacking midfielder. Tottenham are understood to have enquired about Dibling’s availability in January and will make a fresh attempt to sign him during the close season. Manchester City, too, are keeping tabs on the player despite the presence of the improving Savinho and January recruit Omar Marmoush. United and Chelsea are both keen to bolster their squads with the addition of young, versatile forwards and Dibling fits those criteria perfectly. After making just one appearance during Southampton’s promotion winning campaign, Dibling has earned himself a regular starting spot under first Russell Martin and then his successor Ivan Juric. ‘I really think that Tyler has incredible potential,’ said the Southampton manager last month, when asked to assess Dibling’s talent. ‘He has to work a lot because he’s missing small things. ‘(He’s working on) how to move, his body shape, normal things for an 18 year old boy – and then it’s talent. He will be great in the future.’ He continued: ‘We have to be careful to say to him things that he can improve at this moment, but not overload him. Even if he’s a talented guy, we have to leave him a little bit. ‘We already started to work with him on his body shape, with the movements and how to participate more in the game because sometimes he’s absent. ‘Normally we do video (work) with him and maybe (videos of) other players to show him how they are working. ‘I think it’s a process, nothing happens in one week or two weeks but he will be great.’
