The Vancouver Canucks received a mixed bag of news on the injury front following Friday’s practice.
Defenceman Tyler Myers, who was “banged up” on Wednesday against the Seattle Kraken and did not play the final 11:47, is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and unlikely to play on Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks, head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters.
The Canucks could also be down a depth forward as centre Nils Aman took a scary tumble during practice, crashing head-first into the boards before being helped off the ice.
Tocchet said the Swede is still undergoing evaluation and has not yet made a determination on his availability for Saturday.
Postmedia‘s Patrick Johnston reported that the 25-year-old left the Canucks’ practice rink with a sling on his arm.
Meanwhile, Tocchet provided some promising news on injured forwards Nils Hoglander and Elias Petterrsson, neither of whom have played since March 22 with undisclosed injuries.
Though Hoglander likely will not play against the Ducks, Tocchet said the winger is nearing a return to the lineup. The 24-year-old was a full participant in Friday’s practice.
Pettersson, meanwhile, is feeling better, per Tocchet. The timeline on his return is not clear, but he is still considered day-to-day.
