Canadiens’ Dobes pulled from net after allowing three goals on eight shots
Making just his ninth start of the season for the Montreal Canadiens against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dobes allowed three goals on eight shots early in the game, leading to him being pulled in favour of Sam Montembeault.

Sunday was just not Jakub Dobes‘ day.
Making just his ninth start of the season for the Montreal Canadiens against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dobes was pulled after giving up three goals on eight shots early in the game.
Sam Montembeault replaced him in goal.
Across his eight previous appearances — the first eight of his NHL career — Dobes had a 5-2-1 record with a 2.45 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.
The first two goals he allowed on Sunday came less than four minutes apart in the first period, scored by Nick Paul and Victor Hedman. He gave up a third goal to Brayden Point just one minute into the second. What didn’t help matters was that, in each instance, the ensuing goal-scorer was left relatively undefended.
Dobes, from Czechia, has also played 14 games for the AHL’s Laval Rocket this season, recording a 2.44 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.
The Canadiens drafted the netminder as the 136th overall pick in 2020.
