Star defensive lineman Calais Campbell is returning to the NFL for his 18th season in 2025.
Campbell, who will be 39 when next season starts, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced on Tuesday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is worth $5.5 million with a maximum value of $7.5 million.
Campbell spent the first nine years of his career in Arizona after being selected by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2008 draft and has also played for the Jaguars, Ravens, Falcons and Dolphins. Last year with Miami, he started all 17 games and had five sacks, 12 QB hits and 52 combined tackles.
He is a six-time Pro Bowl lineman who was named a first-team all-pro and finished runner-up for defensive player of the year in 2017.
Before leaving Arizona to join Jacksonville as a free agent, Campbell racked up 56.5 sacks, 42 pass deflections and eight forced fumbles in 138 games. Through 261 career games, he’s posted 110.5 sacks, 63 pass deflections and 18 forced fumbles.
He’ll join a revamped defensive line with the Cardinals, who also added Dalvin Tomlinson in free agency to pair with veterans Justin Jones, Bilal Nichols and L.J. Collier.
