Brad Pitt Has an Upcoming A24 Thriller That Has Been in Development Hell for 25 Years
Development on The Riders began in 2000, and after many failed launches and scrapped plans, Brad Pitt and Edward Berger are bringing it to life.

After directing two Best Picture nominees in three years, Edward Berger has been proverbially called up to the big leagues. Now regarded as one of our signature contemporary directors following All Quiet on the Western Frontand Conclave, Berger will have the glorious task of adapting a novel stuck in development hell for 25 years. Luckily, he is signed on with the strongest brand name for cinematic excellence in A24. Most crucially, however, Berger's upcoming film, The Riders, is attached to Brad Pitt, who is set to lead this film, based on a 1994 book of the same name by Tim Winton. For decades, various directors and actors have been trying to get this off the ground, but at the end of the day, it's only when you have the highest star power in Pitt that luck finally turns in your favor.
